Conservation Metadata Schema, version 1.0

This portal documents the development of a community-driven metadata schema for describing information relating to the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage objects. The aim is to improve the long-term documentation, interchangeability and re-use of such data in research, museum practice and heritage conservation.

The version published here is subject to ongoing development and serves as an agile reference environment to complement formal publications.

Work process​

The schema is beeing developed in a transparent and participatory manner within the Temporary Working Group (TWG) Community standards for controlled vocabularies and exchange formats in the field of cultural heritage conservation. At the same time, the wider community is involved through iterative feedback loops, for example in the Community Cluster (CC) Consersation Science or at events. Interested and motivated colleagues are always welcome to play an active part in the further development of the scheme within the TWG!
