This section contains further information on the functional and conceptual framework of the KuR metadata schema.

Whilst the chapters Sections and Metadata Elements set out the practical structure of the schema, this section documents its conceptual framework. It supplements the structured presentation of the schema with background information on its objectives, the development process and the underlying modelling decisions. Reading this section is not strictly necessary for the practical application of the schema.

An overview of the schema’s development, the specialised reference frameworks taken into account, and the iterative development process involving the community.
